Yaroslava Holysh

Yaroslava Holysh (b. 1998, Ukraine) is a visual artist, muralist, and educator. She lives and works in Warsaw. She works primarily in painting and is the author of both artistic and commercial murals. She leads art workshops for children and adults, including mural-painting workshops. She collaborates as an educator with the State Ethnographic Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. Her paintings grow out of a mindful attention to nature.

  • 2019–2021 Master's studies, Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv. Major: Book graphics and printmaking.
  • 2019–2021 Master's studies (unfinished), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Major: Artistic education in the field of visual arts. Double-diploma programme.

  • 2024 – ZAIKS Scholarship, Fund for the Promotion of Creativity.
  • 2024 – Winner of the competition for creating a mural and children's workshops, Wawer Cultural Centre, Zastów Branch.
  • 2023 – Gaude Polonia Scholarship, Warsaw. A 6-month residency and scholarship fully funded by the National Centre for Culture and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
  • 2023 – Artist residency at Galleri Rømma, Løten, Norway. Preparation of the group exhibition “Ukraina Lever”.
  • 2023 – Grant for creating a mural, Art Space Wil-Lab, Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów, Warsaw.
  • 2023 – Grant for the socio-artistic project “Courage”. Creation of the “Be Brave” mural and mural-painting workshops for adults. Funded by the “Strefa Wolnosłowa” Foundation and the City of Warsaw.
  • 2023 – Grant for creating a mural on the theme of climate change, funded by the Inclusive.Buzz Association.
